Day 13 - Fri 4 Nov 2011 / Cooking Day
I did alot of nothing again. It’s really the weather that just makes me want to stay in. It’s been slightly rainy on and off, and unlike the rain back home, the rain here is icy cold and no fun.
There was a huge amount of sunshine this morning randomly and I made sure and took pictures through the kitchen window here because the colours always look really nice here for some reason in pictures.

(^^ View from kitchen window. The picture isn’t rotated correctly after import for some reason. )
I decided to be useful tonight and cook. So got some ingredients at the grocery around 6pm and cooked red lentils, attempted to make stew chicken and rice.

(^^ Red Lentils)

(^^ My sad attempt at stew chicken).

The cat Callisto amuses me most of the time. She’s cute but I’ve spoilt her by playing with her too much. She interrupted my facebook time and made herself comfortable on the keyboard so that I could play with her.

Day 11 - Wed 2 Nov 2011 / Pelau attempt!
Today I tried making pelau! This was my 3rd attempt at doing this. It came out pretty decent actually.
Day 9 - Mon 31 Oct 2011 / Halloween Party @ Madame Tussauds
Today was the Halloween Party at Madame Tussauds. Pam got tickets for it so we decided to check it out. After practising looks over the weekend, I decided to do the zombie look, using whatever crackpot method at the time I thought was a good idea.
I met Pam at her workplace for about 6pm-ish (which is about a minute’s walk away from Madame Tussauds on Baker Street).

We got some McDonald’s down the street and carried it back to her office to eat before we got ready for the party.

(Had me a fish fillet sandwich ^^ )
Got dressed, went to the party. There were some good costumes. It was kind of dark, didn’t really look like what the pics look like, but yay for the flash anyway so that I can see some of the costumes.

It was a star-studded affair, with celebrities here and there.

( ^^ Me and Daniel Radcliffe. My makeup looked really bad and this pic desaturated etc is the most amount of humiliation I’ll subject myself to right now. I went as a zombie/corpse schoolgirl.)
Of course, it was Madame Tussauds, and the stars were made of wax.
Day 8 - Sun 30 Oct 2011 / Breakfast Day
Ha, journalling always sucks when you have to backtrack. But Sunday I woke up late, and me and Pam went to breakfast in Lewisham Center.
We got there close to lunchtime.
After breakfast, we went shopping for last minute items for the halloween party. Of course, when I shop, I personally mean I window-shop. I stare at everything for hours to see if I reeeeeeeeeeeeeally want it. So, I’m pretty useless like that.
We got some Nando’s for dinner (Pam has dubbed Sunday as our Nando’s day). Came back. Ate, vegetated.
Day 7 - Sat 29 Oct 2011 / Lazy Weekend
Really didn’t do much this weekend. Woke up and got dressed to go down the street to Lewisham center to get some stuff for a Halloween “party” at my sister’s work place on Monday. It was a relatively nice looking day outside.
Pics walking up the street:

^^ This is inside of Lewisham shopping center. (Isn’t really much though)

^^ Tiger <3: My new favourite place that my sister showed me. It’s got a lot of cool stuff for cheap! Reminds me of Ikea, minus the furniture.
Got back to the flat 4 hrs later and practiced many makeup looks for Monday. They all pretty much failed because me and my sister were testing out white facepaint (which seems impossible to apply neatly), so I’ve decided to do this “zombie” look using my sister’s old foundation to give me a paler complexion, and used eyeshadow for hollowed out eyes. Going to do more blood on it too.

The makeup shows up more in person though.
Oh, and Pam bought me some Thai-chicken curry and fried rice as takeaway for dinner. Will probably get pics of that some other time. Was very pale looking, unlike most curries I know. But it tasted coconuty and interesting.
Day 6 - Fri 28 Oct 2011 / The South Bank Crawl
I managed to convince Leslie to ditch school and go roam South Bank with me. I had noticed a carousel a couple nights back on the train back to Lewisham.
Met her outside of Waterloo Station- which too a while because her bus stopped on the other side of where I exited the tube.

^^ On the walk around Waterloo Station to meet Leslie. IMAX to the right.
So, we headed in the direction of Southbank and luckily for us, we stumbled across some tents set up with people selling all types of meats and sandwiches etc.

We settled on having these delicious looking sandwiches from this stall.

Made from this delicious looking pig.

So we got a couple sandwiches and two 1/2 pints of beer!!! :D

Then after stuffing ourselves and gabbing, we went walking!
I found the carousel.

Then we saw some “entertainers”.

The weirdest of all who was this weirdo, who seemed really creepy…

…and who we nicknamed “Pedo-Smurf”.. for obvious reasons.

Anyway, we eventually headed back to St. Pauls for her to swipe her card. We went up to the top of the shopping mall there.

We actually left there and went to Sheperd’s Bush mall called Westfield, but I ran out of camera space, so no pics of that for now. Will go back and get pics though, it was a pretty place.
Day 5 - Thu 27 Oct 2011 / Linda’s Birthday!!
This morning, I finally did up my calendar which always puts my time in perspective. I also started my blog. Hopefully I’ll update it regularly so that I can look at it and not think I slept through the entire vacation.

I didn’t have a plan for today except for getting Linda’s birthday gift (Coldplay’s new cd from me and the Body Shop gift card from Pam) and cooking dinner for everyone. She has an exam next week so she’s been studying all week for it, so we’re all staying in!
Pam got Linda some cupcakes.

^^ Pam lighting the candles on the cupcakes!

^^ Rachel Ray’s Sloppy Lassagna. The only thing I can cook right now (which is my way of evolving past macaroni pies and potato salad).

^^ Salad

^^ Post-dinner Veg out. (Notice doggie/footrest on right hand side on couch)
We also had garlic bread that Pam picked up on the way home from work.
Day 4 - Wed 26 Oct 2011 / Darjeeling Dinner
Woke up late. Didn’t do much. I did however decide to go to Lewisham center and walk around and see what Primark had.. oh and also to get slipper thingies to walk around in (floors are cold during the day).
I did that late- around 3pmish. Got back and me and Pam decided to go for Indian food for dinner downstairs at Darjeeling Restaurant.

We had poppadoms (which is probably the equivalent of getting breadsticks at the table while you wait for food).

^^Poppadoms and condiments
We ordered King Prawn / Prawn Puri as an appetiser.

^^ Appetiser
Then we had Tandoori Mixed Grill (Chicken Tikka, Tandoori Chicken, Lamb Tikka and seek keebab), Chana Massala (chickpeas) Chicken Kurma (mild coconut curry) and naan.

^^ Main Course
I of course, had my beer. And in keeping with tradition, my “I’m drinking beer somewhere” picture.

^^ Half Pint of Kingfisher.
